President & Lifestyle Trainer

Hi, my name is Asghar Naqvi. I’m a physician-innovator with a goal to make long term health widely accessible & affordable!

My first career was in the music business with an alternative rock band, Zaemon, which was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame (2011).

I completed my BS in Microbiology at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, LA (1988), Masters of Natural Science (Zoology major / Biochemistry minor) at LSU (2000) and MD (2004) and Internal Medicine Residency (2007) at LSU Health Sciences Center - New Orleans & Baton Rouge, LA; & Integrative Medicine Fellowship (2010) at Harvard Medical School - Boston, MA, where I taught & co-directed Intro to Clinical Nutrition for 2nd year medical students from 2008-2015. I received my MPH (2009) at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness, where I designed, conducted & published observational & clinical studies of nutrition and brain & cardiovascular health.

I co-directed the Internal Medicine Journal Club (2014-2015) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) as Faculty in Hospital Medicine & Primary Care (2010-2015). During that time, I enjoyed personal & professional training at Landmark Worldwide in the Boston area. I worked in Primary Care at Ochsner Health System (OHS, 2016-2020) and in Hospital Medicine at the Franciscans Missionary of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS, 2020-to date) in LA.

I’m currently an Associate Professor of Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - LA, where I enjoy teaching medical students; an academic hospitalist at FMOLHS/Saint Francis Medical Center, where I enjoy teaching medical residents; and President & Co-Founder of integrative WellBeing (iW), LLC, where I enjoy encouraging the general public to investigate and apply healthy practices to their life and communities while measuring the impact of training in Mindset (i.e. acceptance-based mindfulness), Relationship (i.e. communication skills) & Lifestyle (i.e. evidence-based nutrition & movement), on long term well-being & health as measured by validated subjective & objective biomarkers over a 9+ year period.
